About Hone
A place to do your best work, built by someone who needed it.
Hone is workshops, a makerspace and studios across London and Bristol, for people who make things, design things and build companies, and people on their way there.
The kit, the rooms and the layouts are set up the way working makers would set them up. Around you is a community of more than 150 makers, designers and founders who share work, borrow skills and bring each other in on jobs. Most stay for years, and some have been here more than five.

The founder

Vincent Cullane, cabinet maker and entrepreneur
Vincent trained as a cabinet maker and ran his own design and bespoke furniture companies for eighteen years. He knew exactly what a proper workshop needed, and he couldn’t rent one anywhere. So he built one, to the standard a working professional needs: two 1911 factory buildings on the Limehouse Cut, converted himself, with the brick, the timber floors and the light kept.
Hone opened in Limehouse in 2018. Since then he has built it into a multi-site operator: a second site in Bristol in 2023, co-founded with Austin, studio workshops in Tottenham in 2026, and the dance and photography studios that share the Limehouse buildings. Everything is built to the same standard he set for his own bench, which is what people recognise on a tour in the first ten minutes.
Who we are
An independent, multi-site workspace operator for the craft and making sector
We run workshops, a makerspace and studios across London and Bristol, each building fitted out to the standard a working maker needs and run as a working community rather than a serviced office.
We take on buildings, convert them and operate them ourselves, and we’ve done it in two cities since 2018. More than 150 makers, designers and founders work across our sites. Most stay for years, and some have been here since we opened. Everyone who works for Hone is paid a Living Wage, and the buildings run on renewable electricity.
The team
The people who run the buildings
The people who show you round are the people who run the place.
